Fine particulate matter, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, gases, smog, cigarette smoke, natural air pollution, UV radiation – these are all factors that inflict tremendous stress on all of nature, including our skin.

When oxidative stress becomes a permanent condition, our skin suffers. Debris particles and harmful molecules deposit on the skin’s surface, weaken its natural barrier function and thus also manage to cross the skin barrier. Important cell activities that are the foundation of healthy, vital, moisturized and firm skin are inhibited. This may lead to lipid peroxidation. The lipids in the cell membrane change, making it possible for free radicals to penetrate into skin cells and cause permanent damage to the DNA.
